MATV

What is MATV?

MATV stands for Master Antenna Television. It is a popular antenna choice for many apartment houses, hotels, schools and other multi-unit buildings distribute TV and FM signals.

When there are a large number of receivers in the one building, it can be difficult to maintain quality reception without interference. By using quality MATV equipment and techniques we can overcome these issues and restore a clear TV image to your screen.

How does it work? The MATV system uses a network of cables and specially designed components that process and amplify TV and FM signals to then distribute them from one central location. So if there were 50 TV sets within the same building, it would mean that they were all connected to the one main aerial rather than having to access their own individual antenna.

Not only would it create a cluttered and unsightly look to the exterior of the building, but your TV reception would suffer because such a high number of antennas would interact with each other, causing major interference issues. Not to mention the extremely expensive cost of installation and maintenance of 50 antennas.
