A large TV deserves more than just a standard wall mount, especially when it’s being incorporated into a beautifully finished custom entertainment unit.
Our Jim’s Antennas technician recently completed this 75-inch TV wall mounting installation in a new townhouse in Broadbeach on the Gold Coast, using a heavy-duty swivel TV bracket to provide both a clean finish and greater viewing flexibility.
With a TV of this size, careful planning is essential. The position of the television needed to work perfectly within the custom cabinetry, while also allowing enough clearance for the swivel bracket to operate correctly.
This is definitely a case of “measure twice, mount once.”
Heavy-Duty Swivel Bracket for a 75-Inch TV
Large televisions place considerably more load on a mounting system than smaller screens, particularly when using a full-motion or swivel bracket.
For this installation, a heavy-duty swivel TV mount was selected to securely support the 75-inch television while allowing the homeowner to adjust the viewing angle when required.
Unlike a fixed bracket, a swivel mount allows the TV to be pulled away from the wall and angled towards different areas of the room. This can be particularly useful in modern open-plan homes where the television may be viewed from the lounge, kitchen or dining area.
Precision Matters When Mounting a TV
When a television is being installed into custom cabinetry like this, even a small positioning error can be noticeable.
Before drilling or fixing the bracket, our technician carefully measured the available space and confirmed:
- the exact centre position of the television
- the finished TV height
- clearance around the cabinetry
- the location and strength of the mounting points
- the movement required for the swivel bracket
- cable access behind the television
