Community television commonly known as Channel 31 is a fantastic platform for local content, multicultural programming, independent producers and special interest shows. But unlike the major free-to-air networks, it isn’t available in every city and often requires the right setup.


Melbourne – C31 (Channel 44)

Melbourne is the home of Australia’s most well-known community TV service.

How to watch:

• Broadcast on UHF Channel 44
• Available via a standard rooftop antenna
• Covers most of metropolitan Melbourne

Steps:

  1. Perform a manual retune on your TV
  2. Look for C31 / Channel 44
  3. If it doesn’t appear, check your antenna system some older or filtered MATV systems may block the frequency.
