RUSTED CABLE AND SPLITTER REPLACEMENT IN MELBOURNE’S EASTERN SUBURBS

Aaron from Jim’s Antennas Montrose recently completed a job for a customer who was complaining of a poor TV signal.

As soon as he arrived on the scene, Aaron noticed that the antenna system’s cabling and splitter had been run on the outside of the roof and rusted out. Unfortunately TV splitters and coaxial don’t last forever. When they start to go bad, they don’t simply stop working, but begin to do an increasingly poor job of moving the signal from your antenna to your TV.

Unfortunately, the degradation of this equipment is inevitable. However, placing cabling and splitter on the roof of a home leaves it vulnerable to elements such as wind and rain and susceptible to bird-related-damage, significantly speeding up the time-frame before the equipment will need to be replaced.

When completing this job, Aaron installed a new antenna and replaced the system’s cabling and splitter, this time simply running it internally to remove the potential for issues such as rain damage.
