The Games officially start on July 28th and will run through to August 8th 2022.

Channel 7 is the official broadcaster of the Commonwealth games and will be broadcasting across their free to air channels, 7, 7HD, 7TWO, 7MATE, 7FLIX in Metro locations and PRIME7 in Regional locations. You will also be able to access content through their streaming service – 7PLUS.

If you don’t want to miss a minute of the action, now is the time to make sure your TV’s and streaming devices are set up and working correctly.

Live Streaming

To use the 7PLUS Streaming service, you will first need to set-up a free account here.

We also suggest checking your wifi speeds to make sure don’t miss a minute of the action – you can do this by running a simple speed test on your device.

If you have any dead spots throughout your home, outdoor space or office, give Jim’s Antennas a call on 131 546, and we can get all those dead spots covered with our Wifi Service.

Free To Air Broadcast

To watch channel 7 in High Definition (HD) or it’s affiliate channels you’ll need to ensure you have a compatible TV or set top box. All new TV’s are MPEG4 along with new Set Top Boxes, but if you have older technologies they may only be MPEG2 and you may not be able to receive all channels.

Next it’s best to check that you are receiving all channels pixelation free on all the TV’s you want to view the Commonwealth Games on. If you have any pixelation issues (picture breaking up) on any of the 7 channels, it’s best to get your local expert in from Jim’s Antennas to diagnose your reception issues and get these fixed up before the opening ceremony.

If you have recently upgraded your Foxtel box to the new IQ5 box which utilises the NBN network, now would be the time to check your Free To Air channels (FTA), as this new box also requires a Digital TV Antenna to receive Australian FTA channels.
