TV pixelation or loss of channels is not uncommon. It’s also really frustrating and annoying. But thankfully it can be fixed. At times, it may not be as simple as just checking that your power cables are connected to the wall sockets or requiring an auto/manual scan for TV channels. There are many causes of poor TV reception. This could be cabling, splitters, connectors, amplifiers, incorrect installation or an antenna that has moved off alignment. In some cases, it has to do with your existing antenna, which requires a call to the experts, at Jim’s Antennas.
Only recently, Luke from Jim’s Antennas Shepparton, had a customer who was experiencing pixelation issues and loss of TV channels. After testing the TV wall points, it was found that the signal strength and quality were both very low which was causing the picture to cut in and out. The existing antennas were inspected and found to be old analogue antennas that were at the end of their life; so they were removed.
The mount was also removed as it was a hockey stick mount that, over the years, would bounce around in windy conditions and as a result, it had caused damage to the wooden fascia board that it was installed on. A new digital antenna was installed on a new tin roof mount that will not cause any damage to the roof in the future.
Some additional TV wall points were also installed so a new digital amplifier was also installed at the antenna to ensure that there was sufficient signal to power all of the TV wall points in the house. Now the customer can happily watch TV again with a perfect picture.
