Cellferno Fixed Wireless Installation To Improve Mobile Coverage

A customer living in Narrabri, NSW, was previously unable to receive any mobile coverage when using either Optus or Telstra. This led them to rely on satellite internet which operated at an extremely slow speed and restricted their usage to low data limits.

Although only 7kms from town, there was a challenging line of site to the customers premises – which can be seen in the elevation profile.

To address this issue, Powertec set up a Cellferno Fixed Wireless unit at a high point on the customer’s drive way. The Cellferno device and the new set up ultimately allowed the customer to reach an average internet speed of 70Mbps on the Optus network, with a maximum speed of 93Mbps.

Jim’s Antennas is proud to now supply and install Powertec’s Cellferno range as a means of providing our clients with cost effective and reliable internet where cable-based internet is unavailable or speed is lacking.
