Foxtel IQ5 – Why can’t I get any Free To Air Channels?

With the rollout of the NBN, the current Telstra Cable Network is being taken over by NBN for Broadband Transmission which means Foxtel can no longer provide their services including FTA via this cable network.

Instead, Foxtel will be replacing all their cable network boxes from IQ1 – 4 with the new IQ5 box.

The Foxtel IQ5 box will run entirely off your home internet connection, which doesn’t transmit FTA channels.

To continue accessing the great content available across the Australian FTA Spectrum including Ch7, Ch9, Ch10, SBS and ABC channel groups you will require a Digital TV Antenna and relevant cabling.

At the moment the IQ5 box is only available on pre-release, but here at Jim’s Antennas we are already seeing an increase in demand for our Antenna Installation services as clients migrate from the previous IQ cable network Foxtel boxes to the new IQ5 internet only box.

With Foxtel needing to migrate all their cable customers by July 2023 we only expect to see this demand increase.

If you currently have an IQ1-4 cable network Foxtel box, but have not yet migrated to IQ5, why not get on the front foot and give your local Jim’s Antennas Antenna Installation expert a call today to get your FTA needs sorted.
