Is Your Antenna & Mount Damaged Due to Storm-Damage?

Are you having issues with your TV reception? Is it pixelating? Are you unable to get only some channels? Either way, it’s frustrating, but thankfully there is a solution. Although, in some cases it isn’t as easy as just turning your TV on and off, or ensuring that your cables are connected to the wall sockets as well as the TV.

In some cases the causes can be due to antenna damage; particularly after storms. If you have recently had a storm and are having issues with your antenna, then it is time to call the experts at Jim’s Antennas. In most circumstances our technician is able to fix the problem for you on that very same day – it means you’ll be enjoying your favourite TV shows with perfect picture clarity and no more annoying drop outs.

Only recently, Rod and his team from Jim’s Antennas & Jim’s Security Wyong/Bateau Bay, had one of their regular Real Estate Agents call. The Landlord had not undertaken any preventative maintenance to the ‘mounting hardware’ for quite some years. Consequently, corrosion had set in with severe levels of rust showing at all the main anchor points, namely the; masting pole, guy wires, eyelet bolts and turnbuckles.

In a recent storm the corroded components gave way and the structure came crashing down onto the roof, luckily without cracking any tiles (which is often the case). Unfortunately, the TV Antenna, which was actually in reasonable condition, was damaged beyond repair and had to be replaced.

Rod and his team find that in some circumstances, these tall, guy-wired masting poles are a relic from the analogue era and with current Digital Signal, they are no longer required. His team were able to replace the mounting hardware with a standard tile roof mount with a pole height of just 1.2 metres along with a brand new antenna. The Landlord now has very happy tenants and perfect TV reception.

As part of their extra customer service, Rod and his team, cut up and removed all of the old components, and removed them from the property to dispose of them at the local metal recyclers.
