Commercial Installation for Pub in Melbourne’s North East Suburbs

Brett from Jim’s Antennas Mickleham recently assisted in the renovations of Fairfield’s much loved Grandview Hotel.

To update the pub’s interior, the owners decided to move the bistro and the TAB from one end of the building to the other. This required the moving of 24 TVs and video screens, 21 runs of coaxial cables for the TVs, 2 runs of Foxtel and 2 runs for SKY TV. 

When completing this installation Brett also had to run seven 20 metre HDMI leads from TAB server to the TAB screens in order to display the results of races.

The installation of these leads was more challenging than most due to the height and construction of the hotel, which was built 132 years ago. However, Brett is very experienced with these types of installations and was able to figure out a way run the leads in accordance to electrical regulations pertaining to Heritage Overlay guidelines. 

Originally, there was a 3 day shut-down of the pub for Brett to get the job done. However due to COVID-19 restrictions, Brett was given more time, and was able to complete the install at his own pace. Still, this job was no mean feat, and Brett was grateful to have had Michael from Jim’s Antennas South Morang come down to lend him a helping hand for part of the install.

Now, that all the renovations have been completed, the pub looks more inviting than ever.

All that’s left to do is wait for the lockdown restrictions to ease so that it can be re-opened!
