Brett from Jim’s Antennas Mickleham recently installed an antenna and amplifier at his sparkie’s new home.
While he was completing this installation, Brett was approached by his client’s next door neighbour who asked whether he was able to do a quote for him. After Brett had completed the install at the home of his first client, he popped around next door to assess what the issue might be.
Upon arriving, the neighbour informed Brett that he had just moved in and had no TV signal. In some cases, clients experiencing reception issues may overlook obvious reasons for their TV troubles. So Brett began by ensuring the the TV and power cables were connected to the wall sockets as well as the TV, and performed a manual scan for TV channels.
Due to finding no solution there, he decided to conduct a full assessment of the neighbour’s current antenna system and was able to diagnose their reception problems using specialised equipment.
Brett found that this neighbour’s existing antenna system was faulty, and that in order to get their TV up and running they would need to replace the system’s mast, antenna and amplifier. After providing this client with a same-day quote, they gave Brett the thumbs up and arranged a date within the week for him to complete the repair.
Funnily enough, after completing this quote and returning to his van another neighbour approached Brett to ask if he was able to provide them with a quote. This neighbour had also experienced a loss of TV signal and wanted to get rid of their Foxtel.
After, once again, conducting all of the appropriate tests, Brett discovered that the client required a brand new antenna and amplifier. Pleased with the quote, Brett and the client arranged a day for the installation to be completed.
