Big changes are coming to Australian internet. From 14 September 2025, NBN Co will launch the NBN 2000 “Hyperfast” tier—offering speeds up to 2 Gbps for eligible FTTP and HFC homes. Many existing speed tiers will also get free boosts, like NBN 100 jumping to 500 Mbps.
But here’s the catch—those speeds are only possible if your home setup can handle them.
Only FTTP and HFC connections can access NBN 2000. If you’re on FTTN or FTTC, you might qualify for a free fibre upgrade—check your address on the NBN Co website.

To enjoy hyperfast speeds, you’ll likely need a Wi-Fi 6 or newer router, updated cabling or wall points, and optimal router placement for full home coverage. Fast internet from the street is no use if it’s sluggish in your living room. Interference, old equipment, and bad placement can turn 2 Gbps into 50 Mbps.
Jim’s Antennas can assess your current setup, upgrade cabling, optimise router placement, and make sure your home is Hyperfast ready from Day One.
