Did you know that Starlink is now available in Australia for Caravans, RV’s and Mobile Homes?

Starlink operated by SpaceX are low orbiting satellites that deliver high speed, low latency internet via a specialised satellite dish usually located on the roof of a dwelling. There are currently more than 3000 of these small satellites orbiting around Earth.

If you already have residential starlink you can pay an additional $35/month for Portability and take your starlink wherever you travel.

However, if you don’t currently have starlink you can connect to an RV plan which allows you to pause your starlink service on a month-by-month basis for when you’re not travelling.

As of November 22, starlink now has full coverage across Australia including the NT.

There are some limits to Starlink and caravanning. You need to have a clear 360degree view of the sky as trees will block reception. However, as Starlink launch more satellites we expect that there will be more tolerance for locations with trees and objects in the way.

At the moment you can only use your Starlink whilst stationery however a vehicle antenna has just been approved for use in the USA for moving vehicles and we would expect this to be out in Australia sometime in 2023. This would be a game changer for the logistics sector and give truckies access to high-speed internet wherever they are travelling.
