In fact, Mark from Jim’s Antennas Mount Annan just recently replaced a redundant analog antenna and masthead amplifier which were mounted on a 4.5 metre guy wired mast with a Matchmaster UHF Digital antenna on a 1.8 metre mast – with no need for an amplifier. As you can see there is a huge difference between the old and the new in the picture below. The 1.8 metre is definitely less of an eye sore and it is also the safer option – which is the most important thing.
