Samuel Thorne Charity

Campaign for Samuel donation provides Phone, data and Television services

In late November 2015, 9 year old Samuel Thorne was struck down with a rare neurological condition called Transverse Myelitis. Samuel now has a condition called Quadra Paresis, He is fully paralysed with the smallest of movement in his left ankle/foot. The Thorne family have worked tirelessly to bring Samuel home, and after a year, have finally seen that happen.

To bring Samuel home, the Thornes needed to undergo extensive home modifications, purchase medical equipment and engage a full time carer for Samuel.

Mark from Jim’s Antennas (Springfield), donated services to assist the Thorne family by upgrading phone and TV outlets and adding data points within their house.

Recently, the Thorne’s have had a delivery of a specialised piece of medical equipment worth $43 000. This will allow Samuel’s muscles to be stimulated, helping to keep his muscles active. They are hoping to be able to allow others to use this machine in the future.

The Thorne family still need help. If you are interested please find further details at the official Campaign for Samuel site http://campaignforsamuel.org.au/html_public/home/ or the Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/campaign.for.Samuel/
