ANTENNA REPLACEMENT IN DIAMOND CREEK

Brett from Jim’s Antennas Mickleham recently helped out a customer from Diamond Creek, who was experiencing poor TV reception.

As soon as Brett was up on the roof, he was quick to find the culprit. The antenna’s elements, which had been bent out of shape.

When an element is bent, reception for the channel that the element was designed for is affected, as well as the channels below it. As most of Brett’s customer’s elements had suffered some damage he wasn’t able to watch most channels.

In the case that only one or a few elements are bent, you may be able replace these parts individually. However, when the majority of the elements have been misshapen it is best to replace the entire antenna. Which is what Brett did in this situation.

During this job, Brett was also required to lower a 30ft mast, before taking off the old combo UHF/VHF antenna, replacing it with a new one, and raising the mast.
