UHF Antenna install & Surround Sound – Upwey VIC

Technician – Shane (Upwey – VIC) Service: UHF Antenna Installation & Surround Sound The expertise and service provided today by Shane when installing a UHF antenna, but more particularly when he set up the surround sound system (SSS) was fantastic. The SSS has never sounded so good! We are very grateful to Shane for producing a sound (through the speakers) which is far better than when initially installed by a rep from the retailer where we purchased the system (Sanyo) from. Thank you Shane! David Carroll 17 August, 2012

Jim’s Antennas Central Queensland recently set up Satellite Dishes to beam a live simulcast service for Queensland Performing Arts!

Jim’s Antennas Central Queensland recently set up Satellite Dishes to beam a live simulcast service for Queensland Performing Arts. This is the second performance QPAC have hosted .The first being the world acclaimed Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra last September, then Hamburg  Philharmonic Orchestra last week.  Jim’s Antennas were asked to install Dishes and decoder boxes in 8 venues throughout regional Qld. These performances were beamed via Satellite from the live performance in QPAC Concert Hall in Brisbane to regional Centers around Queensland from Cairns to Bundaberg, and across to Mt Isa.  The Simulcast this time included an outdoor venue in Cairns, specially set up for the night. All venues utilised projectors fed via a decoder box over HDMI. Each venue has a dish installed for future use. This will be an onward going event with QPAC keen to install additional sites for future Simulcast events.

Why should I install a Digital TV Antenna? Lewis of Jim’s Antennas Hobart will tell you why…

Digital TV was instigated virtually worldwide, to enhance our viewing experience by offering DVD quality images and sound. Digital TV also uses the broadcast frequencies far more efficiently. This enables us to receive up to four digital channels in the same ‘space’ previously occupied by one analogue channel. These advances allow the use of antennas which are designed for digital, in the sense that the frequency or channel range is a lot smaller. The use of digital TV signal can be quite forgiving, meaning that quite often perfect reception can be achieved in areas that previously had poor analogue coverage. The biggest enemy of digital reception is interference, which can come from sources such as other TV transmitters, radio transmitters, hilly terrain, trees and vegetation. These can cause problems in your TV antenna system through poor antenna design or selection, incorrect setup of the system and old or poor quality […]

Jim’s Antennas and Hills working together to provide better solutions

With the analogue switch off imminent in Adelaide, now occurring in April 2013 which is earlier than first planned it is becoming more obvious that some older antenna systems which have until now been working intermittently and able to decode some digital signals with analogue as a backup when drop outs occur will not be able to cope with the change to fully digital. Jim’s Antennas are pleased to be able to offer Hills new premium TruBand range which have been designed and built locally to service the harshest Australian conditions and offer both the installer and the end user the best available product. Not only do they perform brilliantly, but they look pretty good too!
